What to pack for your hiking trip to Patagonia
ONLY UNIQUE EXPERIENCES

You have already signed up for our Patagonia tour and now is the time to pack․

Here is a list of things you need on this trip.

Clothing

We recommend clothing in layers as the weather can be unpredictable.

Thermal underwear, fleece layer, middle layer and waterproof jacket and pants.

Backpack

A backpack is one of the most important possessions.

It should be 35-45 liters, comfortable for the back. Backpack adjustable for height and shoulder width, with adjustable waist straps to distribute weight evenly.

Hiking shoes

Shoes should be light, waterproof, fit well and have thick soles.

The shoes should be one size bigger than usual, in order not to injure the foot during descents.

Trekking Poles

Trekking poles reduce the weight on the knees during ascents and descents by transferring some of the weight to the hands, and also help maintain balance when crossing difficult terrain.

We recommend choosing from harder and lighter metals.

In the closed state, it is desirable to be small in size, to be conveniently placed in the luggage, to be attached to the backpack.

Sunglasses
Sunglasses are a must to protect yourself from UV rays.

When choosing sunglasses, it is important to consider the height at which we will use them.

Cap or buff

To protect yourself from the sun, you will need a hat that will cover the neck area and protect from the sun and dust, or just a buff, which you can use in different ways.

Sunscreen

The Patagonian sun can be quite strong, you need a good sunscreen to protect your skin from it.

We recommend to choose 50 SPF from pharmacies. It is better to have a small container in order to avoid extra weight and not to take up a lot of space.

Raincoat (poncho)

This is one of those things that you must have in your bag regardless of the weather.

First-aid kit

Although the guide always has a first-aid kit with him, it is necessary to have your own, just in case.

If you regularly use special medicines, we recommend keeping them in your first-aid kit for safety.

Daily clothing

Since we will have several days in Buenos Aires during our tour, don't forget to pack comfortable clothes to wear around town.

You will have the opportunity to leave your casual clothes at our hotel in Buenos Aires before leaving for Patagonia.
